White iPhone 4 is Thicker
Courtesy of Engadget |
The cases deemed to be hugely popular as most cases seemed to solve the antenna issue that came with the black iPhone 4 and so the cases were hot on the market. Sources suggest that the antenna issue has become less of a problem with the new white iPhone 4 as Apple have been finding ways to make that less detrimental. Yes, people would still want cases but those who preferred to have a nice light phone in their pocket may prefer to scrap the case because the antenna problem has somewhat improved.

iPhone 6: Super-slim and Super-light?
Yes folks, the iPhone 6 rumours have begun, way before the release of the iPhone 5. So what have we heard? Japanese newspaper Nikkan: Sharp will use polycristalline silicon technology for the thin film transistor of the iPhone 6's 'p-Si LCD' display, which will bundle optical sensors, signal-processing circuits and other components into its glass substrate.
What does this mean? This means that we can expect the screen to be much slimmer than previous screens allowing more room for the components and also for the iPhone to slim down a bit...well quite a bit.
Also, a thinner screen = a lighter phone. If the thickness of the screen is cut down, and the components are brought closer to the screen, the whole case thickness will decrease: less case = more lighter.
But are these rumours true? We will keep you posted with any more information as it comes...

Samsung Sues Apple
Only a few days ago we told you about Apple stupidly suing Samsung about copying the iPhone and iPad taking the risk of losing their major supplier, but Samsung has now hit back saying that Apple has stolen as many as five of their patents.
Statement from Samsung: "Samsung is responding actively to the legal action taken against us in order to protect our intellectual property."
Developers get iPhone 4S
Apple has begun shipping a 'iPhone 4S' to app and game developers to allow them to prepare for the iPhone 5. Reports suggest that this iPhone 4S sports the new A5 processor, the same one as on the iPad 2 and also a modified version of iOS4 to better suit the A5 chip. Apple want to make sure that when they release the exciting or maybe not so exciting iPhone 5, that it has great fast apps and games ready to go for it. The iPhone 4S is identical to the original iPhone 4 and is only available to certain selected developers. Unofficial sources suggest that the iPhone 5 will start shipping from September 2011, but we have heard nothing from Apple as of yet.

LG Optimus 2X: Hands-on
Good
- Insanely fast
- Flash runs very smoothly
- Slick scrolling and zooming
- Packed with Android features
- Tonnes of available apps
Bad
- Chrome-trimmed case is a tad '80s
- User interface could be more attractive
- Some widgets are flaky
The 2X is available for free on a £30-per-month contract, or SIM-free and unlocked for around £400. Like or Dislike?
Nokia Secure Microsoft Deal Cutting Annual Costs by £883m
Nokia saw its earnings fall less then expected in the first quarter but their new deal with Technology Gurus: Microsoft has seen that go up by 3%. Nokia's previous market share of 33% dropped by 4% due to high levels of increased technology from the likes of Apple and Samsung. But Nokia just got saved and their new deal with Microsoft will allow them to use the Microsoft OS in their Mobile Phones and maybe even tablets if they choose to go down that path.
The deal will help Nokia greatly by cutting yearly costs by as much as £883 Million. As you can see in the picture above...the possibilities of what can happen next are endless and the door of opportunities has swung wide open for Nokia.
There's no doubt that Microsoft will take full advantage of the deal as Nokia has always...well 95 times out of a hundred...brought out reliable and trustworthy products that customers are usually satisfied with. The only thing that's holding them back in this day and age, is/was Symbian. We'll keep you posted with potential products and innovations from Nokia and Microsoft so be sure to check back!
HTC Wildfire S: Hands-on
Good
- Latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread software
- Higher screen resolution than the original Wildfire
Bad
- Colourful case looks cheap
Yes folks, it is the Wildfire S. But besides Android 2.3 and a better screen resolution...there's not much to tell about it really; that's probably why you were surprised to find out that there was a second one coming out...isn't that right? Another important aspect might be that it will be available for free on a £13.50p/m contract. Now that makes it sound exciting, does it not? Well take a look at the video above and the link below to decide for yourself, is it really a big improvement on the original HTC Wildfire? Like or Dislike?

T-Mobile To Get Samsung Galaxy S II A Month Late?
Reports suggest that even though companies like Orange, Three, Phones4U, O2 and Vodafone will get the phone by May 1st, T-Mobile customers won't get it until the beginning of June. Not a big deal...but take into consideration that Orange and T-Mobile are now one company. If Orange get the phone on May 1st and T-Mobile on lets say June 1st, how does it add up? Check back here and we'll let you know when we get an update...
